Joining process of SSC CGL

Many thanks to Inspector Sumeet Gothwal, CBDT, Delhi for sharing his joining experience. Since many of you have secured a job in CGL15 and awaiting further process, here is a first hand insight. Now, this is what I call‪#‎SharingIsCaring‬ mantra:

This is my small attempt for the aspirants to know how the joining process works.
The following was the process:

After the result, we were anxiously waiting for state allocations.

After the declaration of result SSC then sends the dossiers of the selected candidates to HRD of Income Tax. From here the role of ssc was done and now we were at the disposal of the Income tax departmental.
So finally in few months State preference letter came in which we had to put our preferences of the states.

Finally we couriered it to the HRD of the Income Tax deptt situated in Vasant Kunj,Delhi. ( Although we could submit it by hand too )

So now comes the long wait. the state allocation process is a very important process and is done meticulously.
We started going to Vasant Kunj to enquire about the status of state allocations. After many rounds and meeting with Asst. Directors and Joint Directors finally the allocations were done.(Pheww!!)

Now HRD sends dossiers to every state and they are sent physically so takes some time.

Now we wait for letter calling for Document Verification which clearly specified each and every documents that were needed( Included some form which were required to be attested by a Gazetted officer ).
In this process all documents are physically verified by the departmental people( Mostly TAs and Sr. TAs ) and was done without any problems.
We were handed over a letter for Medical Checkup from Ram Manohar Lohia hospital(For Delhi candidates).
From there we had to go and present this letter and ask for Medical dates.
On the day of Medical Examination:
All tests were done easily, no blood test, Only height, weight, urine, hernia, eyes were examined.

Then the hospital sends the medical fitness certificates to the department by post. That takes around 1 week. Then the department makes a final letter and call us for joining. Here the important part was, candidate who gets his medical done fast and knows some people here and there in the hospital gets his joining early.(Although it doesn’t affect the seniority)

So the day we sign on the joining report is the day we get our salary from.

From here onwards we are joined as inspector in Income Tax Department.

After joining:

The first few weeks were spent in the CR building at ITO, Delhi. This is the time we were absolutely free and were hanging out and getting to know our colleagues. In this period we did all the process like bank account opening, applying for ID CARD, applying for Pran no, Sim card.
So after 15-20 days the posting order came and most of us were posted in the different buildings namely CR building, Mayur Bhawan, Jhandelwalan, Saket, Vasant Kunj, Civic center.

And here each and everyone’s life start with excitement and with a vision to work with the department, getting promotions, or crack UPSC etc.
