General Intelligence and reasoning(GI) You do not need any other book in actual but KIRAN’S SSC ALL GRADUATE LEVEL EXAMS SOLVED PAPERS 1997-2012 This book will cover your entire GI. All you need to select this section from every paper (Don’t be CGLE specific as even after 15 years there is practically no change in SSC for level in GI. Though you may find level of difficulty slightly higher in CGL papers but you must not skip any GI section in any paper. Try to note the pattern of any type of questions they ask. If you understand the flow, 45 marks are confirmed in GI out of 50. Rest 5 numbers bhagwan bharose 1. Prepare all GS questions of last year given in any paper from 1997. That alone will confirm near about 20 marks since SSC has habit of repeating questions (warning: 4-5 answers in nearly every set are wrong given in paper. So do check answer from internet or any source of your convenience) 2. If you can cover Lucent’s general knowledge then it will be very beneficial (though I dint got time to read it last year except polity section). If you have less time don’t read lucent. And don’t give too much time for GS as GS marks can’t be assured of. Read and cover these books. 1. Quicker Maths by M Tyra 2. RD SHARMA mathematics(class 9th and 10th) 3. Relations between degree/minutes/seconds and radian( interconversion and related questions are becoming frequent While reading these books, always refer to the syllabus. Its advisable to solve 2-3 papers of NA of last year questions and then start preparation. Few syllabus in above books are out of syllabus. So skip them English Comprehension(EC) Normally breakup of EC is 1. Common errors(5 marks) 2. Fill in the blanks (5 marks. Very often related to idioms but may contain other portion) 6. Spelling related question(5 marks) 7. One word substitution (5 marks) 8. Reading comprehension(rest) But paper may contain voice/narration at the cost of comprehension.
Which book and portion will cover
A mirror of common error by ASHOK KUMAR SINGH(STUDENTS’ FRIENDS PUBLICATION) You got to cover everything in the book
No specific book but idioms from wren and martin high school English grammer will certainly help
1..Word power by norman lewis 2. any cat coaching or any other coaching collection of words(I had read PT coaching book) Even after covering above you can’t guarantee yourself full marks in this section as no book can cover 1lakh words n ssc question in this question is very random. I doubt do they make this section from some big dictionary. But if you cover above books it will certainly help and you can expect 6 marks out of 10 marks(uske upar kismet)
2. DILIP KUSHWAHA WORD POWER From wren and martin read two chapters only This will be enough for phrases
Spelling related questions You can just do practice from any book. Marks depend on what you have learned till date.
Word power by Dilip Kushwaha Read one word substitution from this book. 90% question you can crack easily. And if lucky 100%
Anything you read will improve comprehension. If you read editorial of The Hindu, it is of great help
A mirror of common error by ashok kumar singh Apart from these I had done sufficient practice though from ssc cgl last year questions only from kiran book but in examination condition and putting answers on omr. If you can do sufficient practice for a month, then you can expect to get b/w 125-175. Depends on the situation.
