1. What is the status of Junior Engineer (Civil Engineering) and Responsibilities?
Under the general/close supervision of higher officers, supervises construction and maintenance work and prepares preliminary drawings and estimates and other related work.
Typical Tasks:

1. Prepares rough drawings, site plans and cost estimates of work required to be executed.
2. Checks and prepares drawings for work/site details and checks 100% work performed under his charge to ensure that all works are done according to specifications , drawings ; standard laid down and approved samples. Records particulars of defective/substandard work in the site order-book and also brings to the notice of his superior officers.
 3. Arranges and issues material to the contractors and maintains proper inventory and accounts of receipt, issues and balances. Prepares recovery statement for material and other services rendered by FCI for contractors‟ accounts and sends the details to Manager for effecting recovery.
4. Records measurements of work done by the contractors/departmental labour and prepares work calculation sheets, lead charts etc., for calculating the quantities of work done.
5. Checks bills, adjustments, transfers, claims, etc., and puts up to higher officers.
6. Prepares and submits returns required from time to time.
7. Ensures safety measures against accidents.
8. Performs other related work as may be assigned to him.

4. What is the status of AG.II (Hindi) and Responsibilities?
The incumbent is required to translate correctly from Hindi into English and vice-versa and/or perform other duties listed for AG-II Typical Tasks:
1. Translates Letters, Notes, Publication, Parliament Questions, Documents and other material from Hindi into English and vice-versa.
2. May be required to perform other duties listed for AG-II.
3. Performs other duties as may be assigned to him.

5. What is the status of Typist (Hindi) and Responsibilities?
Typist (Hindi) in FCI is the beginning level of clerical grade requiring knowledge and ability to type correctly in Hindi at the speed of 30 w.p.m. and above. The incumbent may also be required to perform other duties listed for AG-III.
Typical Tasks:
1. Types in Hindi articles, notes, letters and statements, cuts stencils and compare typed material.
2. Performs other duties as required by his superiors.

6. What is the status of AG.III (General) and Responsibilities? 
AG.III (General) in FCI is the beginning level clerical grade involving the performance, under close supervision of the Manager/higher officers, of duties of a routine and repetitive nature such as making simple entries in registers, dispatch of mail, drafting simple letters, maintaining casual leave record, recording movements of incoming and outgoing files, maintaining files of routine nature and other related work which can be readily learnt after a little or no job experience. The more difficult assignments normally to be assigned to AG.I and AG.II can also be required to be performed by this grade under some close and immediate supervision of the Supervisors.
Typical Tasks : The following are a few illustrations of the tasks generally performed by positions falling under this class:
 1. Receives and diarizes the incoming dak, segregates incoming communications and distributes to the concerned employees.
2. Reads and checks outgoing mail for completeness, readiness for dispatch by checking e.g. proper and complete address, proper signatures, proper enclosures and similar details and conformity to postal regulations.
3. Compares typed material.
4. Records movement of incoming and outgoing files.
5. Drafts simple letters and maintains files of routine nature.
6. Prepares identity cards for employees, makes entries in service book and maintains casual leave account.
7. Receives monthly indents for items of stationery from different sections, scrutinizes the same keeping in view the staff strength, issues in previous months and the stocks in hand with the sections concerned, and seeks orders of the superiors in respect of the quantity to be issued. 8. Performs other related work that may be assigned to him by his superiors.

7. What is the status of AG.III (Accounts) and Responsibilities? 
This is the beginning level Grade of Accounts Assistant involving in the maintenance of accounts on day to day basis in the various offices of the Food Corporation of India including Pay Offices.
Typical Tasks:
1. In case of correspondence linking a letter to earlier reference or link file and put up for further action/ information.
 2. Maintenance of files of the section/division in which he /she works and periodical review thereof. 
3. Preparation of various vouchers related to receipts, payments along with proper enclosures. 4. Maintenance / Review of basic books of Accounts.
 5. Maintenance/ Review of books of classification (Ledgers) and consolidation.
 6. Preparation of various information/ reports for MIS.
 7. Preparation of various Schedules required for consolidation of Accounts.

 8. What is the status of AG.III (Technical) and Responsibilities? 
AG.III (Technical) in FCI is the beginning level grade of Technical Assistants involving the performance under the close supervision of Manager (QC)/higher officers and under the lead of TA Grade-I or TA Grade-II, simple tests relating to analysis of samples of food grains and preparation of analysis report. The incumbent may be required to perform various physical and chemical tests as may be prescribed from time to time and maintain record of samples received along with results of analysis, prepare statements and returns, maintain records of equipment received and supplied and perform other related work that may be assigned. The higher range of duties of TA Grade-III overlap with the lower range duties of TA Grade-II.
Typical Tasks:
 1. Receives various samples and enters in a register, gets the same arranged by Pickers in the sample room; may assist in preparing Analysis Report.
 2. Checks maintenance of Reference Type Samples library arranged by the Pickers.
 3. Carries out analysis of food grains such as performing Iodine Test for determining the dehusk in Rice, checking the Length and Breadth Ratio on the gauge, checking moisture content, checking and studying various refractions as separated by the Pickers and other physical and chemical tests as may be prescribed from time to time.
4. Collects data for returns and statements.
5. Checks quality of food grains at the time of receipt and issue.
6. Assists in surprise checks.
7. Assists in procurement of food grains from mandies as well as taking over of staff from State Governments from Central pool.
8. Performs other related work that may be assigned to him.

9. What is the status of AG.III (Depot) and Responsibilities? 
AG.III (Depot) in FCI is the beginning level clerical grade involving, under close supervision by AG-I (D)/AG-II (D)/ Manager (D)/higher officers, the performance of duties of a routine and repetitive nature such as making simple entries in registers, diary and dispatch of dak, drafting simple letters, maintaining files of routine nature and other related work that can be readily learnt after a little or no job experience. The more difficult assignment normally to be assigned to AG-I (D) and AG-II (D) can also be required to be performed by this grade under some close and immediate supervision.
Typical Tasks:
1. Assists his superiors in sealing the godown locks, maintaining of godown daily opening and closing register, checking watchmen on duty, supervising cleaning and sweepings etc.
2. Attends to godown activities such as receipts, issues, physical verification of stock and shed accounts and reports; attends to loading, unloading, weighing and stacking operations and prepares the relevant records such as weighment sheets, convoy note, truck chit and delivery memo. Makes entries in the commodity register, stack wise register, daily diary and bin cards, and signs all papers prepared by him.
3. Prepares daily, fortnightly and monthly issue and receipt reports.
 4. Maintains account of the dead-stock and miscellaneous articles.
5. Guides, directs and supervises labour gang, stitchers, sweepers and sifters in performing their duties.
6. Diarises and dispatches dak.
7. Drafts simple letters and maintains files of routine nature.
8. Performs other related work as may be assigned to him by his superiors.

10. Whether I can apply in Two or more Zones and posts? 
Candidates can apply only in One Zone either North Zone or South Zone or East Zone or West Zone or North East Zone. Candidates can apply for any one of the post code A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H & I within the Zone.

11. What are modes for applying for the post?
Candidates are required to submit the Online Application only ONCE.

12. How to apply for the post , what is the amount that I am required to pay and what are the documents I need to upload?
 Filling up of Application Form is in two parts viz: PART- I: a) In Part I, Candidate will have to fill the requisite information like Candidate‟s Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Category, whether Person with Disability, whether Departmental (FCI) employee, Zone applied for, Written Test Centre, Post applied for, Educational Qualification, E-mail Id, Mobile Number, Experience, Communication Address, Declaration, etc. On submission of Details, Candidate will be prompted to check the filled details and fill/make corrections if any, otherwise to SUBMIT his/her final data. b) Photograph, Signature and Certificate/Document for Exemption of Application Fee is to be up-loaded as per instructions given on the website in the link “Guidelines for scanning the Photograph, Signature, Certificate/Document”. The image file of Photograph, Signature and Certificate/Document for Exemption of Application Fee should be in .JPG or .JPEG format. There will be 3 separate links for uploading Photograph, Signature and Certificate/Document. Click on the respective link “Upload Photograph, Signature and Certificate/Document”. Recent passport size colour photograph, preferably with white background, must be used. Size of the file for photograph should be between 20kb-40kb. For signature the Candidate has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen. If the Candidate‟s signature on the answer script at the time of the examination and at subsequent stages, if applicable, does not match the scanned signature on the Admit Card/Attendance Sheet, the candidature of the Candidate will be disqualified. Size of file should be between 10kb- 20kb. The Candidate has to scan and upload the relevant Certificate/Document for Exemption of Application Fee {in case of SC/ST/PWD/ExSM (Ex-Servicemen who have already secured employment in civil side under Central Government in Group „C‟ & „D‟ posts on regular basis after availing of the benefits of reservation given to ExServicemen for their re-employment are NOT eligible for fee concession or for claiming benefits of reservation under EXS category. However, they are eligible for age relaxation only.) and Female candidate} in one page only. In case of failure of uploading the relevant Certificate/Document, the candidature will not be accepted. Size of file should be between 20kb-60kb. Online Application Form will not be Accepted/Registered unless the candidate uploads his/her Photograph, Signature and Certificate/Document (if applicable) as specified. After uploading, Candidates have to preview the uploaded images. Here the candidate is advised to see that, his/her uploaded photograph is clearly visible/ identifiable in the appropriate row and the specimen signature is also visible in appropriate space. If for any reason uploaded images are not up to the mark then the candidate can upload these images again by following the same procedure. In no case these spaces should be swapped. If the candidate is satisfied with the uploaded images, he/she may proceed further. c) Submission of Application:  The candidate may review all the filled information before clicking on the declaration.  If a candidate finds that all the filled information are correct then he/she can select the declaration and click on final SUBMIT button given on page, otherwise to EDIT the information filled by him/her. For the candidates Exempted from Application Fee: For SC/ST/PWD/EX-SERVICEMAN (Ex-Serviceman who have already secured employment in civil side under Central Government in Group „C‟ & „D‟ posts on regular basis after availing of the benefits of reservation given to Ex-Servicemen for their reemployment are NOT eligible for fee concession or for claiming benefits of reservation under Ex-Serviceman category. However, they are eligible for age relaxation only.) AND FEMALE CANDIDATES ONLY.  Once a candidate clicks on SUBMIT button a Registered Application Form will be generated having unique Registration Number. Candidates are advised to take a print of the Registered Application form for their records and future reference.  Candidates exempted from Application Fee will get a Registration Number as confirmation through SMS and/or E-mail, which can be used along with combination of Date of Birth to print the Registered Application Form. Thus the process for registration of Candidates exempted from Application Fee gets completed. The Registration number along with Date of Birth can also be used for downloading the Admit Card 15 days prior to the date of examination which shall also be notified in the designated website (www.fcijobsportal.com). In case the candidate is not able to take the printout of the Registered Application Form and also does not receive SMS and/or Email indicating Registration Number, the candidate can download / access the same by link “Click here to Print/Reprint Registered Application Form/ To make the Payment of Application Fee if earlier attempt was not successful (Relogin)” given on website www.fcijobsportal.com. Candidates are advised to take a print of the Registered Application Form for their records and future reference. Thus the process for Registration of Candidates who have to pay Application Fee gets completed. The Registration Number along with Date of Birth can also be used for downloading the Admit Card 15 days prior to the Date of Examination which shall also be notified in the designated website (www.fcijobsportal.com). NOTE: IT IS IN THE INTEREST OF THE CANDIDATES TO USE ANY ONLINE MODE OTHER THAN THE CHALLAN MODE TO INSTANTLY COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS AND GENERATE THE REGISTERED APPLICATION FORM. CANDIDATES ARE ADVISED NOT TO WAIT TILL 18th MARCH 2015 TO MAKE PAYMENT THROUGH CHALLAN. FURTHER THE BANK /TRANSACTION CHARGES FOR CHALLAN MODE IS RS 60/- IN ADDITION TO THE APPLICATION FEE OF RS 350/- AND IS TO BE BORNE BY THE CANDIDATES.  Candidates who opt for Cash mode of Payment i.e Bank e-Challan : A challan will be generated in two copies (One Bank‟s copy and one Candidate‟s copy). After taking a printout of the Bank Challan, a candidate has to go to nearest SBI branch in working days/hours and make the payment on or before 18.03.2015. After making the Payment, a candidate will get a Candidate‟s copy of challan duly stamped along with Journal Number. Candidates are advised to keep this Candidate’s copy of challan in safe custody for future use. After making the Cash payment, a candidate should visit www.fcijobsportal.com after a minimum gap of 24 Hours to check his payment status by clicking on the “Click here to Print/Reprint Registered Application Form/ To make the Payment of Application Fee if earlier attempt was not successful (Relogin)” given on the website www.fcijobsportal.com. If the Payment status is updated successfully, Registered Application Form will be generated having unique Registration Number. If Payment status is not updated successfully and if a candidate has already submitted Application Fee by Bank Challan mode, then either he is checking his payment status before 24 hours after making the payment, or his payment details have not been received from Bank. If the candidate has already made the payment by Bank Challan before 24 hours and his details are not available, then he is advised to send the scanned copy of his Challan receipt on mail id : fciquery@fcijobsportal.com, clearly mentioning Payment Reference Number and Journal Number. Please note that only after confirmation of the payment, the Registration of a candidate shall be treated as COMPLETED. Candidates are advised to take a print of the Registered Application Form for their records and future reference. The Registration Number along with Date of Birth can also be used for taking a print of Registered Application Form and also for downloading the Admit Card 15 days prior to the date of examination which shall also be notified in the designated website (www.fcijobsportal.com). In case the candidate is not able to take the printout of the Registered Application Form and also does not receive SMS and/or Email indicating Registration Number, the candidate can download / access the same by link “Click here to Print/Reprint Registered Application Form/ To make the Payment of Application Fee if earlier attempt was not successful (Relogin)” given on the website www.fcijobsportal.com. Cheques, Money Orders, Postal Orders, Pay Orders, Banker‟s Cheques, Postal Stamps, etc., will not be accepted, towards Application Fee.

13. What are the modes of payment of Application Fee? 
Candidates are required to submit APPLICATION FEE of Rs. 350/- (Excluding bank charges but including service tax of Rs. 39/-. Service Tax Code (Registration Number) – AAACF0365NST099) through any one of the following modes of payment: • SBI Internet Banking, other major bank‟s Internet Banking; Debit/Credit Cards (The additional bank charges for all such transactions is around Rs 20/- (which may vary) and is to be borne by the candidates in addition to the Application Fee of Rs. 350/-.). The last date for making the Payment of Application Fee through this mode is 17.03.2015. • Cash Payment through e-challan at branches of SBI {The additional bank charges for Challan Mode is Rs. 60/- , and is to be borne by the candidates. Thus the Total Application Fee in this mode is Rs. 410/- (including bank charges and service tax of Rs.39/-)}. The last date for generation of Bank Challan is 17.03.2015, and last date for making the Payment of Application Fee by e-Challan is 18.03.2015. IT IS IN THE INTEREST OF THE CANDIDATES TO USE ONLINE MODE OTHER THAN THE CHALLAN MODE TO INSTANTLY COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS AND GENERATE THE REGISTERED APPLICATION FORM.

14. I have, by mistake, entered incorrect data in my application. How shall I correct it? 
If a candidate finds that all the filled information are correct then he/she can select the declaration and click on final SUBMIT button given on page, otherwise EDIT the information filled by him/her. The candidate should cross check all the details filled in the Online Application, before finally submitting the same, as no correction will be possible later. Data, once submitted cannot be edited. Care should, therefore be taken that only correct information is entered in the Application Form. In case you find that anything needs to be changed, go back and make the necessary changes. Only when you are sure the information is in order, Click on SUBMIT button. Please note that once the data is saved any requests for change of mailing address, examination center / category / discipline etc. as declared in the online application will not be entertained.

15. How can I get to know the status of my application after submission? 
Candidates can Re-login into the system using either a combination of Registration/Payment Reference No. and Date of Birth or a combination of Candidate‟s Name, Date of Birth, Category and Father‟s Name to know the status of their application.

16. What documents should I keep for future reference?
 A copy of Registered Application Form, Bank Challan, Photocopy of all relevant Certificates / Documents, No Objection Certificate (NOC) (if applicable), Admit Card and Skill Test Call Letter (if applicable) needs to be maintained till the end of the recruitment process.

17. I am unable to choose a post of my choice? 
Based on your age, category, PWD/PH, domicile of J&K, essential qualification and other details the system is designed to give the Posts for which you are eligible. In case it is not displaying the Post of your choice, you have either entered incorrect data or you are not eligible for that particular Post. Hence, kindly read the advertisement for eligibility and availability of posts and then fill the correct details in the Online Application Form.

18. What will be the language used in the exam? 
The Question Papers for Written Test will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi.

19. I belong to a reserved category. Can I apply for post for which there is no vacancy advertised for the reserved category? 
For example, there is no vacancy for SC for the post of J.E (Electrical). Similarly there is no vacancy for ST for the post of JE (Civil). Please read the advertisement for eligibility and availability of posts. In case there is no vacancy for a particular reserved category, he/she can still apply provided if he/she meets the eligibility criteria. However, for such posts he/she shall be considered as a General candidate and no relaxation in age, qualification etc. shall be provided to him/her for this post.

20. Can the age of candidate be rounded off to the lower limit? 
No, the age cannot be rounded off to the lower limit.

 21. If the print out of the filled/Registered Application Form could not be taken at the time of registration, can it be taken out at a later date? 
Yes, the printout of the filled/registered Application Form can be taken at a later date by using either a combination of Registration/Payment Reference No. and Date of Birth or a combination of Candidate‟s Name, Date of Birth, Category, and Father‟s Name.

22. When will the Written Test be held? 
Date of Written Test will be announced later on the website www.fcijobsportal.com.

23. What will be the pattern of the Written Test? 
PATTERN OF WRITTEN TEST The WRITTEN TEST will comprise of One Paper: Paper-I only for Post Code F {AG-III(General)} and Post Code I {AGIII(Depot)} Paper- III only for Post Code E {Typist (Hindi)} Two Papers: Paper I and Paper II for the Post Code A {JUNIOR ENGINEER (CIVIL ENGINEERING)}, Post Code B {JUNIOR ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING)}, Post Code C {JUNIOR ENGINEER (MECHANICAL ENGINEERING)}, Post Code G {AG-III (Accounts)} & Post Code H {AG-III (Technical)} Paper III and Paper IV for Post Code D {AG II (Hindi)} The Paper-I is common for post code A,B,C,F,G,H and I. Candidates applying for any ONE of the post code A,B,C,G and H will appear in Paper-I to be followed by PaperII. Candidates applying for Post Code D will appear in Paper-III to be followed by Paper-IV. Note: WRITTEN TEST for Paper – I & Paper – II and Paper – III & Paper – IV shall be held in single sitting only. Paper-II (Duration-90 minutes): i) 120 Multiple Choice Questions on Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering for Candidates applying for the Post Code A {Junior Engineer (Civil Engineering)}, Post Code B {Junior Engineer (Electrical Engineering)}, Post Code C {Junior Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)} to assess the post specific technical knowledge of relevant stream. ii) 120 Multiple Choice Questions on Commerce particularly General Accounting and Finance for candidates applying for the Post Code G {Assistant Grade-III (Accounts)} to assess the post specific technical knowledge of relevant stream. iii) 120 Multiple Choice Questions on Biological Sciences for candidates applying for the Post Code H {Assistant Grade-III (Technical)} to assess the post specific technical knowledge of relevant stream. Paper-III (Duration-90 minutes): 120 Multiple Choice Questions on General Hindi, General English, General Awareness, General Intelligence and Computer Knowledge for candidates applying for the Post Code D {Assistant Grade-II (Hindi)} and Post Code E {Typist (Hindi)}. Paper-IV (Duration-90 minutes): Translation – 2 Passages, one each from Hindi to English and vice-versa and two essays each in Hindi & English for candidates applying for the Post Code D {Assistant Grade-II (Hindi)}.

24. Whether there is any possibility of change in the date of examination due to clashing other exam’s dates? 
The examination date once declared shall not be changed.

25. Whether educational qualification and Experience Certificate are required to be sent?
 No Educational Qualification Certificates / Documents and Experience Certificate are required to be sent in connection with the Application unless directed to do so. Candidates may also note that Self-attested Photostat copies of requisite Certificates/Documents shall be required to be sent / uploaded at the designated address / website in case of their shortlisting on the basis of the Written Examination / Skill Test which shall be informed / notified through the designated website (www.fcijobsportal.com). Original certificates will, however, be scrutinized / verified at the time of Document Verification.

26. Whether No Objection Certificate is mandatory for Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertaking/Departmental(FCI) Candidates? 
Yes. Candidates should in possession of No Objection Certificate from their Employer on or before 17.03.2015.

27. Whether the change of Centre for Written Test is allowed after the submission of Application?
 No change in Centre of examination will be allowed under any circumstances. Hence, the candidate should select the Centre carefully and fill the same correctly in their online application. However, the Corporation reserves the right to cancel any Centre and ask the candidates of that Centre to appear from another Centre. Corporation also reserves the right to divert candidates of any Centre to some other Centre to taken the examination.

28. Whether SC/ST/OBC/PWD and Ex-Serviceman certificate is mandatory or not? Certificates in the prescribed format as appended at Annexure A,B,C,D & E of the Advertisement is mandatory for seeking reservation/relaxation benefits.

29. What should I do if there is lot of delay in accessing the website www.fcijobsportal.com? The delay in accessing the website www.fcijobsportal.com depends upon various factors like internet Speed, load on the server, Network problems etc. Therefore if you are not able to get the relevant webpage for registration promptly, please retry after some time or during offpeak hours. In order to avoid last minute rush, the candidates are advised to apply early enough. FCI will not be responsible for network problems or any other problem in submission of online Application.

30. What is the last date for submission of Online Application Form? 
The Online Registration will remain active from 16/02/2015, 10:00 hrs. to 17.03.2015 till 24.00 Hrs. ONLY. In order to avoid last minute rush, the candidates are advised to apply early enough. FCI will not be responsible for network problems or any other problem in submission of online application.
